Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into a family of actors and filmmakers, both occupations that she's taken up. When she made her debut, she was just nine years old aged in Sergio Citti's film Sogni e Bisogni in 1988. she played the lead role in Cristina Comencini's debut film, Zoo, and was part of the cast of The Church directed by Michele Soavi. In the following year, she appeared as Nanni Moretti's daughter in Red Wood Pigeon It was with Close Friends written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career really took off and she could transition from roles that were played by young girls, to more complex, mature roles. In Trauma she appeared for the first time with her father, famed Italian filmmaker of horror Dario Argento her mother is one of the most beloved actresses by Argento, Daria Nicolodi, playing an obese girl who is in search of her parents' killer.
